Marking of Fittings and Equipment

Clear marking of individual elements of installations is, above all, a very important factor for occupational safety. It also makes movement around the installation and its operation or maintenance much easier. The most common way of marking industrial fittings and equipment is the placing of identification plates directly on or near them.

Descriptions can be in written form or encoded in an alphanumeric code such as CCF. It is essential that both the written description and code should be concise enough to be read quickly. Instructions of how to read encoded plates or abbreviated descriptions should be made available to workers alongside appropriate training.

Marking of equipment is one of the most important elements of workplace safety.
